Research-Based Curriculum

Highlights of this year’s curriculum include

• leading for learning;
• continuing to use the PLC process as a means to improve student achievement
• digging deeper into the use of protocols
• embedding 21st century skills in teaching and learning
• using assessment for learning
• transforming highly qualified to highly effective staff
• using coaching to improve teacher and administrator leadership
• using data in a collaborative culture
• leading professional  conversations
• understanding the importance of information and media literacy
• developing a theory of action around “problems of practice

Organization

The number of participants and geographic location will determine the number of cadres.  Each cadre will be assigned a cadre leader who will facilitate the sessions and provide continuous networking opportunities for members. Participants will be provided the opportunity to attend 4 regional cadre sessions, 4 national consultant days, and the June Summer Leadership Retreat.

Additional opportunities

• EILA credit hours will be awarded for attending each event (up to 48 hrs per year possible).
• The KLA curriculum meets the requirements for certified evaluation update training.
• For districts with participants, the local superintendent (or his/her designee) will be invited to attend any/all of our events as our special guest.
