Mr. Stuart Silberman, Superintendent of the Fayette County Public Schools, was chosen as one of four finalists nationwide for the National Superintendent of the Year Award (NSOY). Selected by the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA) as the Kentucky Superintendent of the Year, Silberman was selected as a national finalist from a pool of candidates representing all 50 states. KASA was notified by the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) of Silberman’s selection.
A national blue-ribbon panel interviewed Silberman and the other finalists January 13, to determine the NSOY. Watch the interview with Silberman and the other finalists here.
The winner was revealed during AASA’s National Conference on Education February 20, 2009, in San Francisco. Beverly Hall, superintendent of Atlanta Public Schools was named the 2009 Superintendent of the Year. For more information go to www.aasa.org.
