Participants from both the district leader (ISLN) and school leader (KLA/KLAA/Principal) networkswill join for this two-day learning/working session on June 20-21, 2011. James Popham will be presenting the keynote address on June 20 and a break-out session. Other presenters include assessment expert and UK professor Thomas Guskey; Mike McKay, a superintendent from Canada that has been scaling up assessment literacy in his district; Jessica Addison and Ken Mattingly,two master Kentucky teachers that will model what effective implementation of highly effective teaching, learning and assessment practices looks like; and, on June 21, Dean Fixsen, a national expert on effective implementation practices, will lead district teams through a review of their plans for implementing the new KCAS within the context of highly effective teaching, learning, and assessment practices. This summer conference will provideyour district team the opportunity to deepen their own learning, while having time to collaborate on their local plans and share with their colleagues statewide.
