Award candidates are those school system leaders who demonstrate:
- outstanding educational leadership
- creativity in meeting the diverse needs of students
- strength in professional and personal communication
- consistent professional development
- motivation of district staff
- active involvement in the community
These leaders are consummate communicators, collaborators,
consensus creators, child advocates, champions of curriculum, and masters of teaching and learning.
To apply, download the one-page nomination form. Complete and mail it to AASA before July 30.
Once nominated, the nominee must complete the application and submit it to KASA no later than September 15 in one of the following formats:

The Kentucky award recipient will be recognized at the
KASS winter conference in December and receive a $2,000
scholarship, provided by Scientific Learning, for a student
in his or her district.
