Fred Finalists - Jimmy Hendren

Jimmy Hendron makes a difference in the lives of students at Cub Run Elementary school each day.  Hendren is the school’s custodian and also drives a bus for the school district.  He knows each student by name and takes time to positively interact with them throughout the year. 

Hendren is so well respected by staff that he has served as a writing portfolio pal, guest reader during I Love to Read activities, completed training and served as a proctor during assessments, and mentored students.

Hendren sets an example for all to follow.  He interacts with students by recruiting them as volunteers in honor of their positive classroom behavior, providing meals for students outside of school, and hosting cookouts for students who need extra encouragement.
